Japan has officially kicked off construction of its first-ever integrated casino resort, MGM Osaka, located on the artificial island of Yumeshima. Backed by a whopping $8.8 billion budget from a consortium featuring MGM Resorts International and Orix Corp, the mega-project is slated to open in 2030. It boasts three hotels with 2,500 rooms, a 3,500-seat theatre, and massive convention spaces. The gaming floor is strictly limited to 3% of the total footprint, yet is projected to pull in $5.9 billion annually.

Wynn Al Marjan Island Casino Resort to Open September 2027

The UAE's first integrated resort has locked in its opening date following the acquisition of a federal gaming license.

US operator Wynn Resorts has confirmed its historic $5.1 billion integrated resort, Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, will welcome its first punters in September 2027. The slight delay from its original spring target is chalked up to regional logistical hurdles. Situated on a 60-hectare artificial island, the complex will feature a 1,500-room hotel, 20 premium restaurants, and a 20,900 sqm gaming zone that recently secured the UAE's first-ever federal commercial gaming license from the GCGRA.
